Why Parasites Need to be Addressed First

Did you know when addressing pathogens and infections you must address parasites first?

This is because many of the side effects you experience from them, like SIBO, are really a downstream problem.

By addressing parasites, you're addressing the root cause of your indigestion, food intolerances, over or underactive immune system, HIT... fill in the blank.

This is why so many people fail to resolve things like SIBO or candida. It's a symptom of a bigger problem.

Parasites are known to irritate the immune system, triggering TH2 dominance which leads to HIT, worsening food intolerances and IgE related allergies.

They decrease stomach acid which is the first way our body's are supposed to kill them! Having acidic stomach acid is essential for breaking down food so we can absorb and make vitamins like B12 and zinc.

Parasites release endotoxins like ammonia, formaldehyde and histamine which is why too strong of a killing protocol will cause severe die off reactions. (Why binders are essential).

Worms love to block the ileocecal valve which is often dysfunctional in those with SIBO.

Parasites are known to cause constipation as a protective mechanism and a way to feed off of your food longer (ick!). Constipation is one of the biggest challenges many people don't get well because you are reabsorbing the toxins.

It is astonishing that when we address parasites, many of the other issues mentioned here seem to resolve and do not need further attention. It gives the immune system a chance to reset and our gut the opportunity to finally heal.

If you've had persistent infections, SIBO or the like- it's time to consider parasites as likely the root cause.
